This species is primarily nocturnal and rests under rocks during the daytime. It is a common species and can be found in a wide range of habitats across the Kurdistan Region, from low-elevation steppe areas to mountainous regions. Compared to other amphibians in the Kurdistan Region, it can tolerate higher temperatures and lower moisture levels. Its diet consists primarily of insects and other small invertebrates.
