It is primarily nocturnal and becomes active after dusk. In the KRI, it prefers forests, mountainous areas, orchards, and grasslands. Its diet primarily consists of invertebrates and occasionally includes frogs, reptiles, young birds, rodents, plants, fungi, and carrion.
